New Insights into Food Preferences in Autism Spectrum Disorders

Congratulations to doctor Veronika Borbélyová on new publication, developed in collaboration with the Institute of Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava. The publication demonstrates that mutations in the Shank3 gene, associated with autism spectrum disorders, disrupt the balance between homeostatic and hedonic brain circuits that regulate food intake, thereby affecting food preferences and intake patterns, which differ between male and female subjects.
